Multi fuel back boilers

Solid fuel back boilers:

Solid fuel back boilers are available (as well as gas and oil) - but while gas and oil models work independently of the fire front, solid fuel back boilers are only able to provide hot water when the fire is lit. They come in closed and open

LPG Boilers:

The LPG Boilers are normally adapted from the standard Natural Gas Boilers, often only require smaller main burner jets because LPG supply pressure is higher than natural piped gas. Running Cost of LPG gas boilers are similar to oil boiler. Like oil boiler the LPG gas boiler also need a storage tank and a fuel feed line from the tank to the boiler.

Natural Gas Boilers:

Given that piped natural gas is available for cooking, the natural gas boilers are the cheap boiler to install and maintain. They don\'t require fuel storage facilities and can be automatically controlled hence has lower running cost.

Stoves with back boilers:

A stove with a back boiler can be used to supplement your existing heating system or to entirely run your heating and hot water. As a rough rule of thumb domestic hot water generally takes 8-10,000 BTU, whilst an average radiator (3\' x 4\') takes around 5,000 BTU. This rule of thumb is no substitute for the advice of a good plumber / heating engineer.

Stainless steel back boilers normaly cost more than steel back boilers, but will last longer. Glass lined back boilers do tend to last longer than steel only back boilers.

Clip-in back boilers can be added to the stove at a later date and so are available seperately, but have a lower heat output than integral, factory fitted stove back boilers. Integral back boilers are factory fitted and have a high heat output. Generally a stove with an integral back boiler will have a fairly low (1-5kW) output to the room and a high output to the boiler.
